Balotelli risks being left out of Italy's squad (AP)
ROME (AP)—Mario Balotelli has reportedly phoned Cesare Prandelli to apologizeafter his latest discipline violation for Manchester City, but the Italy coachapparently wants the 21-year-old striker to say sorry publicly.
If Balotelli doesn’t offer a public apology and start behaving better,Prandelli could leave him out of Italy’s European Championship squad as part ofhis new code of ethics.
The ANSA news agency says Balotelli called Prandelli after being sent offduring City’s 1-0 loss at Arsenal on Sunday, his fourth red card in two seasonswith the English club.
Prandelli has already left out Balotelli for Italy’s friendly against theUnited States in February while the forward was serving a four-match ban in thePremier League.
